New Flag for Sparrows Point High School

The presentation of a new U.S. flag and a Maryland state flag was made on December 15, 2005 to Sparrows Point High School. Local resident and Sparrows Point alumnus, Tim Caldwell, responded to a request from the school by contacting the offices of Congressman Wayne Gilcrest and Governor Robert Ehrlich, Jr. Both offices were happy to comply and forwarded Tim autographed portraits and a Congressional citation which was presented in addition to the flags. Mr. Caldwell observed the scheduled presentation as poignant since the Iraqi people were honoring the U.S. flag and President Bush through their elections on the very same day.
